Blessings from 2007

I figured that I spend way too much time complaining about my life and how I’m unsatisfied with my current situation so I thought I’d write down some of the blessings and good things that have happened to me in the last year.
1. I graduated from college…this was a huge accomplishment for me and I’m so excited to be a college graduate. I came away from college feeling so blessed with all of the friendships that Mike and I made in Graceville. Those four years of my life are such a huge part of who I am now and I’m thankful for the entire experience.
2. I started my first real job…even though, I pretty much hated my job, I learned invaluable things about what working really entails. This was my first experience in a 40 plus hours a week kind of job and I think it was an important time to find out about what it takes to make it in the real world. I also learned a lot about being assertive and not cowering away from difficult situations.
3. We got Phyllis! …Phyllis has been a great addition to our little family and I love cuddling with her after a long day at work.
4. My friendship with Lyndsey! This year especially, I have really gotten to know Lyndsey a lot better..and I value her friendship very much. She has been such an encouragement to me and an overall bright spot in my life! She’s definitely a great blessing and a good running buddy.
5. Getting to Spend Time with Family. This year more than ever, Mike and I have been able to see both of our families at least once a week and it’s been so awesome to have the opportunity to do that. I know that we are lucky people. Most married couples either have parents that live in two different places or parents that don’t live close at all. I’m glad that our families are such an integral part of our lives and our best friends! I’m really glad that I get to see my dad all the time especially since I never really know how long I will get to be able to do that.
6. Getting Our New Apartment! Mike and I love our new apartment. It’s awesome because we live across the street from Andrew and Lyndsey, and it’s a major step up from where we lived in Graceville. I love being able to throw parties and overall just enjoy being at home.
7. Mike getting Ordained!..This was a memorable experience for both Mike and I that we will never forget. It was awesome that Mike had the opportunity to get ordained in the church where he basically started his ministry. Noma Baptist will always be a place that we love and will always come back to visit. We learned so much from such a small group of believers. It was amazing to see how people from all walks of life can come together for the cause of the gospel.
8. My dad!..My dad is my hero! He went through another wicked surgery over Thanksgiving and basically came out of it Scott free! He is such a testimony to the power of faith and endurance! My dad accepts his sufferings and misfortunes as a means to proclaim the glory of the Lord, and I’m so thankful that I have such a powerful influence in my life.

9. My Husband!..More than ever, Mike and I’s friendship has solidified this year. I think the third year is the charm. Mike and I have thoroughly enjoyed just being together. I look forward to coming home everyday to my husband and I’m incredibly thankful for his support and his kindness that he shows me every day.

10. Wellington Presbyterian! Thank God! We finally found a church! Mike and I wandered in the wilderness for about two months before we actually found a church home. We really enjoy this church, and have had the opportunity to have lunch at the pastor’s home already. I really feel at home at this church and can’t wait to get more plugged in!

11. The Gators Winning the National Championship!! What a fun experience!! It was so much fun to watch the Gators do it in January and to watch it happen again for the basketball team again in March! What a great year to be a Gator!

Wow. Tim Tebow makes me extremely proud to be a part of the Gator Nation. What a great testimony to the glory of the Lord! I respect him so much for using every opportunity available to proclaim the name of the Lord. Glory be to God!
