16 weeks and counting..

I’m officially four months pregnant now. Mike and I got a new ultrasound pic, and were shocked at how different the baby looked within weeks of the last ultrasound. It went from blob to baby! My dad says the baby already looks like Mike…haha. Here’s the most recent pic…

It got flipped around, and I don’t know how to fix it on the blog…

In other news, my best friends from college came down and surprised me. They had been planning it with Mike for over a month, and I had no idea. I’ve never been surprised before, so I almost went into cardiac arrest when it happened. It was Friday night, and I fell asleep on the couch at 9pm watching Golden girls, as every young 24 year old girl does on Friday night, when all of the sudden I heard banging on the door. The next thing I saw was all of my favorite people rushing through the door with “Team Baby Brunjes” t-shirts on. It was a great weekend, in spite of the rain.

The best part was Mike’s thoughtfulness in planning the whole thing. He cleaned the house in preparation for the girls, and never let on at all that they were coming. Plus, he was a great sport with a house full of 4 women for 3 days straight. My friends got me this really cool glorified play pen. It’s called a play n pack and I’m not sure even what it is, but I know it’s great! haha. It has two levels, a changing table, and a bassinet all in one…

I’m getting excited to try out all this new baby stuff I’m getting! Now, Mike and I are just looking forward to finding out what the sex is…we find out June 10th, so we’re counting down the days!

Obama and the CNN Correspondents Dinner

President Obama gave a speech at the CNN Corrspondents dinner, which was a mixture of press, politicians, and celebrities…a.k.a. heathens. :)

Although I don’t agree with 85% of what President Obama stands for or his policies, he remains an engaging speaker, and is actually incredibly witty and enjoyable to listen to.

Here’s the video in case you missed it…

Weird Pregnancy Stuff

It’s so amazing how everything changes when you become pregnant. You are start thinking of things you would have never thought about before. For example, I recently discovered on a blog that they have things called uddercovers…which are basically glorified blankets to use while breastfeeding in public.

Before, I never worried about covering my udders, or had to worry about them being exposed in public. Now, I have a whole new range of concerns to think about. Not only do they have uddercovers, but they have them in a whole range of colors and patterns. At least, when you are about to expose your udders in public, you can do it in style. Personally, I like the refined uddercover designs the best.

Other than that, everything seems to be going really well. I’ve been reading pregnancy and child-rearing books like crazy. I kind of feel like I’m studying for the SAT’s. I don’t want to mess anything up.

Mike and I went to Babies R-us yesterday, and it was an overwhelming experience to say the least. I don’t even know where to begin…please continue to pray for us as we study up on parenting. Hopefully, we don’t screw it up too bad. :)

It’s been a long time since I’ve blogged, but it’s been a crazy past few months. First of all, Mike and I are pregnant now! I’ll be 10 weeks pregnant tomorrow. I’m due on November 13th! Mike and I are really excited. We recently made the decision to start trying to get pregnant, and it definitley did not take long to accomplish that goal. haha.

Now, we’re full in the throws of looking for a house. We’ve already made an offer on one house. It’s a 3/2 short-sale. The seller has approved our offer, but now it has to be approved by the bank. Unfortunately, with short-sale houses, the closing process takes a lot longer than usual.

Also, I started a new position in January, that is fun, but is probably the most challenging job I have ever been in. Everyday is a new adventure, and right now I feel like I’m just trying to keep my head above water.

If you would…please pray for Mike and I as we’re moving into a new phase of our lives…Thanks!

Here’s what I think the baby looks like right now…I know it’s kind of freaky looking. :)

Looking Forward to This…

New Calvinism

March 13, 2009 at 3:50 am | In Uncategorized | Leave a Comment

Kind of crazy…Time Magazine named “New Calvinism” the third most popular idea of 2009. Apparently, the idea is growing like wild fire. I really don’t know what the difference is between a new and old calvinism, except for a changed culture. Here’s the link if you would like to read more about it….

* P.S. Mark Driscoll also talks about it on the Resurgence blog…

I wanna take the test too…I’m an expert in all things Mike Brunjes.

1. He’s sitting in front of the TV, what is on the screen?
Mike is a big fan of the t.v. It could be a variety of things…mostly involving sports. Gator football, Gator basketball, the Dolphins, the Heat, anything on ESPN. Also some of Mikey’s other random favorites include: the Office, Grey’s Anatomy, Lost, and of course…24.

2. You’re out to eat; what kind of dressing does he get on his salad?
Salad? haha. The only salad he really likes to eat is Caesar. So therefore, I answer Caesar dressing. <—-Mike is the same. No need to change this answer.

3. What’s one food he doesn’t like ?
Peas, biscuits, anything southern except for grits…he loves grits.

4. You go out to eat. What drink does he order?
A diet coke with a lime, coors, or a rum and diet

5. Where did he go to high school?
Dwyer

6. What size shoe does he wear?
uhhh…I think a 9 or a 91/2

7. If he was to collect anything, what would it be?
Gator memorabilia or Bibles. We already have a ton of Bibles.

8. What is his favorite type of sandwich?
Turkey sub for Publix with all the fixin’s…there are specifics, but I won’t bore you.

9. What would he eat every day if he could?
Bagels or Pei Wei

10. What is his favorite cereal?
Frosted shredded wheat

11. What would he never wear?
A Kentucky Wildcats t-shirt….:)

12. What is his favorite sports team?
He has a lot, but the main one is the beloved  Gators..

13. Who did he vote for?
McCain

14. Who is his best friend?
Me

15. What is something you ask him to do that he wishes you wouldn’t do?
I am confused by this…I want him to do something that he doesn’t want me to do?? If it’s a chore…he really loathes cleaning the bathroom. Periodically, I will ask him to do this and it does not go over well…

16. What is his heritage?
German???

17. You bake him a cake for his birthday; what kind of cake?
Mike likes minty things…I make him an ice cream cake usually with mint ice cream sandwiches. It doesn’t sound very good, but he likes it.

18. Did he play sports in high school?
Basketball

19. What could he spend hours doing?
Reading, playing x-box, or watching sports..

20. What is one unique talent he has?

That’s the name of my brother in-law Danny’s band. He’s been playing in lots of bands since the days of middle school. He’s finally decided to play some of his own stuff, and I love it. I hope you love it too. It’s really great…especially the electric part that his friend Ryan Alexander plays. It’s very John Mayerish and melodic. I’m excited to listen to Danny folk music now, instead of Danny hardcore music. :0

For your enjoyment…
