The Dark Knight
July 19, 2008 at 2:41 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsMike and I went to see the new Batman movie with a few friends last night. I was not looking forward to seeing the movie at all. I thought Batman begins was incredibly lame, and I’m just not into fantasy movies or movies based on cartoons. For instance, I could care less about Spiderman. I know…you want to stone me right now.
But..I thought this movie was awesome! I never realized how cool Batman was. I know this is inappropriate, but the only phrase to really describe Batman in this movie is bad ass. He was bad to the bone. The cars, the fights, everything was just great.
Heath Ledger did an amazing job of playing the Joker. He was so sinister and dark. I always picture Heath Ledger as a pretty boy, that plays some really soft roles..i.e. Brokeback Mountain. He was by far the best character in the movie. His acting was superb. I recommend that everyone should go see it. Right now. That’s how good it is.
Seriously…Is it Football Season Yet?

I’m not gonna lie…I got super excited when I saw this on ESPN yesterday. I long for another National Championship. I eagerly anticipate what this season holds. I expect greatness!
By the way…I loved Erin Andrews enthusiasm in this video. She’s a gator alum, and you can definitely tell that she loves being part of the Gator Nation. It’s great to be a Florida Gator!
Toby Keith
July 5, 2008 at 5:09 pm | In Uncategorized | 5 CommentsLast Friday I took one of my little guys from the group home to the Toby Keith concert at the Cruzan Ampitheatre. I’ve never been a huge fan of Toby Keith, but I have to admit he put on an awesome show! We got handicapp accessible seating, and Brian couldn’t sit in the regular chairs, so we got to be right in front of the stage! It was incredible! He sang right to Brian and tossed him one of his guitar pics! Brian was so excited. It made my year to see him so happy.
Montgomery Gentry opened for Toby Keith, and they were even better. If they come around again, and you like country music, you definitely need to go see them. What a show…
Sorry about the sideways pictures…I don’t know how to fix that. Any suggestions are welcomed.
Covenant Keeper
June 19, 2008 at 8:52 pm | In Uncategorized | 3 Comments
It’s been raining non-stop in South Florida, which is kind of nice, because it gives us a nice break from the heat…and it’s definitely needed. When Mike and I were driving home from the most awkward YFC event ever, we saw this rainbow.
I love rainbows. It reminds me that God is a covenant keeper. He was faithful to complete his promises to Abraham, even when Abraham and Sarah tried to thwart His plans. He was faithful to Noah, even when he got drunk and naked. He’s faithful in keeping his promise to never flood the earth again. He’s faithful to keep interceding for us on our behalf, even though we are nothing. We have the imputed righteousness of God. We are called saints, because of who Jesus is and what He did for us on the cross. We are covenant members of the Great High Priest, who is able to breathe life into creation, and make marvelous things for us to encounter..even on a boring drive home.
I am not thankful enough for being able to know Jesus. He is definitely worthy to be praised.
Longing for Football Season..
June 15, 2008 at 5:02 am | In Sports | 3 CommentsBring on the chicken wings and beer…I’m ready for college football season to start!! I’m definitely over basketball season and the Lakers/Celtics matchup. I need Tebow and Urban to bring a bright smile to my face. I think that this is going to be a big year for Gator football. Tebow is a seasoned vet now, and we have a brand new defensive line-up that should be much better than last year!
The game that I’m most looking forward to this year is the Miami/Florida game. Last time these two teams matched up…it was New Years Eve, and Miami beat us, ruining the Brunjes’ New Years Eve party. It will be fun to beat Miami in the Swamp. I just can’t wait.
Go Gators!!
Fishing is Fun!
June 7, 2008 at 11:35 pm | In Uncategorized | 2 CommentsYou ever have one of those days when you wake up and realize that you live in one of the most beautiful places on earth? Today was one of those days for me..Me and my dad went Fishing in Jupiter on the Blue Heron drift boat. The weather was gorgeous. The water was Bahama like-crystal blue. It was incredible.
I caught two fish! I caught a cobia fish…which was extremely heavy. My dad helped me hold the pole while I reeled it in. It took forever and now my arms are definitely sore. The second fish I caught was a rainbow runner which was much easier to manage. Oh crap..Now I just realized that I left dead fish in my car. I need to get that asap.
Here’s some pics from the day…
I Love The Summer!!
June 2, 2008 at 3:00 am | In Uncategorized | 2 CommentsSummer is so much fun. I love playing outside. Tonight we had a barbeque with our young adult small group. I realized tonight, that I do not spend enough time outside..and really, I don’t spend enough time just enjoying the simple things in life. When you work all the time, it’s easy to get caught up in all of the mundane things of life…such as: paying bills, planning your day, grocery shopping, blah blah blah… Sometimes you need to just go outside and remember what it was like to be a little kid. To just play outside for hours on end until your mom calls you in for supper. haha.
By the way check out Dan Sturgis in this picture…I wish I could jump this high.
Jacksonville Weekend
May 27, 2008 at 2:37 am | In Uncategorized | No CommentsI had an awesome time this weekend visiting my friends from BCF. My first roomate from freshman year lives in Birmingham, Alabama now and is finishing up her last year of Pharmacy school. I always jump on an opportunity to see her when she comes home, since she lives so far away. We had a great time this weekend..and I decided to get my nose pierced. We tried to do it freshman year of college and I chickened out five different times. My friend had serious doubts about this time, but I have grown and have learned to suck it up.
Seeing my roomates, and dorm buddies made me miss the college life. Life without a full-time job, and without bills and responsibilities is so much fun. I treasure every moment that I get to spend with my Graceville girls. Hopefully, I can see them again soon!
So Funny..Yet So Wrong
May 23, 2008 at 5:12 am | In Uncategorized | No CommentsThis goes to show that craziness and crime happens even in upper middle class, white suburbia. This little kid is off his rocker. He had the potential to hurt lots of people, but thankfully he only took out a couple mailboxes, and some parked cars in the Costco parking lot.

Praise God!
May 22, 2008 at 1:32 am | In Uncategorized | No CommentsLast week, my dad met with his oncologist about the spot that was found on his brain. The first oncologist recommended that he have whole brain radiation, which is a really grueling and risky procedure. By the grace of God, his home health nurse knew of another oncologist which was using this brand new procedure called Cyber Knife Therapy.
Basically, it’s gamma knife radiation which pin points out the tumor and zaps it out through radiation. It’s totally non-invasive. It wasn’t painful at all, and my dad went right home after the procedure was awesome. What a merciful God we have!!
