16 weeks and counting..
May 31, 2009 at 1:46 am | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentI’m officially four months pregnant now. Mike and I got a new ultrasound pic, and were shocked at how different the baby looked within weeks of the last ultrasound. It went from blob to baby! My dad says the baby already looks like Mike…haha. Here’s the most recent pic…

It got flipped around, and I don’t know how to fix it on the blog…
In other news, my best friends from college came down and surprised me. They had been planning it with Mike for over a month, and I had no idea. I’ve never been surprised before, so I almost went into cardiac arrest when it happened. It was Friday night, and I fell asleep on the couch at 9pm watching Golden girls, as every young 24 year old girl does on Friday night, when all of the sudden I heard banging on the door. The next thing I saw was all of my favorite people rushing through the door with “Team Baby Brunjes” t-shirts on. It was a great weekend, in spite of the rain.
The best part was Mike’s thoughtfulness in planning the whole thing. He cleaned the house in preparation for the girls, and never let on at all that they were coming. Plus, he was a great sport with a house full of 4 women for 3 days straight. My friends got me this really cool glorified play pen. It’s called a play n pack and I’m not sure even what it is, but I know it’s great! haha. It has two levels, a changing table, and a bassinet all in one…
I’m getting excited to try out all this new baby stuff I’m getting! Now, Mike and I are just looking forward to finding out what the sex is…we find out June 10th, so we’re counting down the days!

Obama and the CNN Correspondents Dinner

President Obama gave a speech at the CNN Corrspondents dinner, which was a mixture of press, politicians, and celebrities…a.k.a. heathens.
Although I don’t agree with 85% of what President Obama stands for or his policies, he remains an engaging speaker, and is actually incredibly witty and enjoyable to listen to.

Weird Pregnancy Stuff
April 20, 2009 at 12:22 am | In Uncategorized | 1 CommentTags: breastfeeding, pregnancy
It’s so amazing how everything changes when you become pregnant. You are start thinking of things you would have never thought about before. For example, I recently discovered on a blog that they have things called uddercovers…which are basically glorified blankets to use while breastfeeding in public.
Before, I never worried about covering my udders, or had to worry about them being exposed in public. Now, I have a whole new range of concerns to think about. Not only do they have uddercovers, but they have them in a whole range of colors and patterns. At least, when you are about to expose your udders in public, you can do it in style. Personally, I like the refined uddercover designs the best.
Other than that, everything seems to be going really well. I’ve been reading pregnancy and child-rearing books like crazy. I kind of feel like I’m studying for the SAT’s. I don’t want to mess anything up.
Mike and I went to Babies R-us yesterday, and it was an overwhelming experience to say the least. I don’t even know where to begin…please continue to pray for us as we study up on parenting. Hopefully, we don’t screw it up too bad.

I’m Pregnant!
April 16, 2009 at 12:22 pm | In Uncategorized | 5 CommentsTags: family, house hunting, pregnancy

It’s been a long time since I’ve blogged, but it’s been a crazy past few months. First of all, Mike and I are pregnant now! I’ll be 10 weeks pregnant tomorrow. I’m due on November 13th! Mike and I are really excited. We recently made the decision to start trying to get pregnant, and it definitley did not take long to accomplish that goal. haha.
Now, we’re full in the throws of looking for a house. We’ve already made an offer on one house. It’s a 3/2 short-sale. The seller has approved our offer, but now it has to be approved by the bank. Unfortunately, with short-sale houses, the closing process takes a lot longer than usual.
Also, I started a new position in January, that is fun, but is probably the most challenging job I have ever been in. Everyday is a new adventure, and right now I feel like I’m just trying to keep my head above water.
If you would…please pray for Mike and I as we’re moving into a new phase of our lives…Thanks!
Here’s what I think the baby looks like right now…I know it’s kind of freaky looking.
New Calvinism
March 13, 2009 at 3:50 am | In Uncategorized | Leave a CommentKind of crazy…Time Magazine named “New Calvinism” the third most popular idea of 2009. Apparently, the idea is growing like wild fire. I really don’t know what the difference is between a new and old calvinism, except for a changed culture. Here’s the link if you would like to read more about it….
* P.S. Mark Driscoll also talks about it on the Resurgence blog…
